We’ve started installing innovative energy efficiency measures to create warmer homes for residents in Ellesmere Port and Neston.

The Guildmore team is carrying out these works on behalf of For Housing in partnership with Cheshire West and Chester Council, with funding received from European Regional Development Fund.

Existing homes are benefitting from high specification external wall insulation just in time for winter.

Keith Laing, Head of Façades and Cladding at Guildmore said “We have worked closely with our supply chain partners including Soltherm External Insulation Ltd. to create a new innovative approach  to surveying properties which will reduce the impact on residents.  Our approach will ensure the highest levels of consideration are maintained are all times when working in and around people’s homes”.

Cheshire West and Chester Council commented: “This is a good example of an activity that will be of benefit to residents, saving fuel costs whilst keeping their homes warm at the same time contributing to the climate emergency solutions. The Council has declared that the borough is in a climate emergency, we are working with partners and communities to tackle climate change in the area.  We welcome ideas like this on how we can reduce carbon and other greenhouse gas emissions”.

This external refurbishment project should be completed by the end of October 2019.
