A hard to find balance

Mitcham is fast becoming an ideal spot for young families. There are not not many districts that strike the perfect balance between a leafy suburb and a close proximity to London.

With great connections for commuting, and upmarket areas such as Wimbledon and Tooting on its doorstep, Mitcham is a great middle-ground between the bustling London vibe and a quiet village life.

Surrounded by Surrey’s rolling countryside and the multitude of green spaces in the area, Mitcham has the rural feel of a quintessential London village.

Located just on the border of inner and outer London, Mitcham boasts more affordable housing than its neighbouring boroughs, attracting a younger family audience.

Who said London wasn’t green…

You won’t be short of places for a peaceful afternoon stroll or a long dog walk here. Thanks to its agricultural roots, Mitcham and its surrounding areas boast an abundance of parks and green spaces. There’s something for everyone – from kids paddling pools, climbing frames, free tennis courts and the oldest cricket ground in existence!

Here’s a short area guide on the green spaces of Mitcham:

Figges Marsh – with more than 10 acres to explore, Figges Marsh is great place for a dog walk. It also has outside table tennis and a free outdoor gym.

Edenvale Park – a tucked away, secluded playing area with climbing frames and children’s obstacle courses.

Tamworth Farm – over 50 allotment plots and a children’s playground.

Lavender Park – houses a multi-sport pitch, a pavilion, a play area including a trim trail and a separate toddler play area.
